I used the parent-child office temporarily, but because I could see it from the outside, I sat there with the blinds down even on greyer days. I usually forgot to put them up again and so I sat there all day without any daylight. I also didn't feel comfortable there next to the toys.
I really enjoy my job and it was the right decision for me to go back to work. But I still have feelings and of course I miss my child. Sitting in a nursery would not have made it any easier to get back into work.
This situation was new for everyone. But luckily we found a great solution for a breastfeeding office together. Our site management did everything in their power to make it easier for me to get back into work. Another advantage, as it turned out later, was that the small office also had its own heating and I could finally work at a comfortable room temperature. This was also an advantage for breastfeeding itself. Things that we hadn't thought of before.
But my job also involves travelling. In some offices, there is no room that is not visible, except the toilet. In some places, I was completely unfamiliar and had to ask people in advance if there was a room or armenia consumer email list a place where I could retreat to breastfeed. I could always have secretly disappeared into the toilet (when travelling) so as not to have to address and communicate the issue. But in my opinion, society should address these issues if we want to enable breastfeeding mothers to return to work quickly and signal to them that they are welcome and show them that they do not have to choose between work and breastfeeding.
Nevertheless, I have to say that it requires a lot of logistical planning if you decide to go this route. Breastfeeding breaks cannot be postponed if your diary is already full of appointments. So I can only advise you to roughly block out the times in your calendar before you return to work.
Another tip would be to stock up on breast milk before you return, so the portion has to be thrown away and cannot be used the next day.
In summary, I can say that breastfeeding and working can work: It requires teamwork with your partner and open ears from the people you can talk to on site, but also a lot of courage and planning. The teamwork with my partner worked fantastically, our site management team made it much easier for me to get back into work and the courage and planning came naturally.
