Why not use vanity metrics?

In the digital marketing segment, there are some numbers that, at first, can enhance a brand, but do not serve as a basis for decision-making, because they are not accurate. These are the so-called vanity metrics, which are collected, but cannot be used in your strategies .

Some of the main examples of vanity metrics are:

social media follower numbers;
number of likes on a post;
number of likes on a video ;
number of downloads of an application.

Therefore, the most appropriate option is to opt for metrics that demonstrate the reach of each action in your digital marketing campaign, as they reveal the real number of people reached by your brand.
