YouTube removes banner ads

Post by shukla7789 »

Starting April 6, 2023, banner ads will be permanently removed from YouTube videos. Alphabet's video platform stated on March 6 that this decision will have no major impact on creator monetization. The end of this format could even be considered anecdotal if new types of ads emerge.

Non-premium YouTube users without ad japan mobile database should be pleased to learn that the banner ads that appear below a video, just above the settings, have been removed. Deemed by YouTube to be " disruptive to viewers ," this format, used on desktop computers, had already been removed for several years on phones and tablets.

Today, advertisers prioritize video ads before, during, and after content. They are often ignored. This change should therefore have little impact on content creators on the platform. " We expect a limited impact for most creators as engagement shifts to other ad formats, " YouTube confirmed in its press release . To combat a potential decline in monetization, the Alphabet subsidiary promised to introduce new ad formats, without providing further details.

YouTube is trying to reassure its creators, already angry about the constant changes to its monetization rules. So much so that this week, the platform had to reverse its policy prohibiting the use of vulgar words.

For the time being, video makers can rely on the speech of YouTube's new CEO, Neal Mohan. He emphasized in February that there are other ways to earn money besides advertising: paid subscriptions, e-commerce, and even product placement. YouTube could in the future introduce a new feature allowing users to tag products directly in videos. This feature is already present on TikTok and Instagram, the platform's two main competitors.
