My short story
Artists who create art for the sake of it could be called traditionalists. I am one of those people. I have been active in the field of art for at least 8 years, but even as a child my favorite toys were crayons. Focusing on the work that is created as my hobby, I try to enjoy the creative process, the amount of effort and work put into it.
Art or money?
In content marketing, as I have read, three elements are important – text, image and emotions. As a person working in the field of art, I deal primarily with emotions. As Władysław Tatarkiewicz wrote: “Art is the reproduction of things, or the construction of forms, or the expression of experiences – if the product of this reproduction, construction, expression is able to delight or move or shock.” In short, art is an action that is able to evoke emotions. Although this quote is quite old, because it comes from the book History of Six Concepts from 1988 (approximate date), it seems to me that it is still relevant for many.
As a young artist, I have to take into account that if I want to live from art, I have to combine it with something. When starting out on the art market, you have to work very hard to achieve a level that satisfies you. However, at this stage, various obstacles and problems appear that have long burdened this field.
Regardless of the purposes for which my work will be used, whether it is to decorate the boss's office or to complement advertising , there is a problem with distinguishing the value of the work and pricing it. The omnipresent digitalization is pushing out from marketing and advertising works made using traditional techniques (i.e. drawing, painting, sculpture, workshop graphics). The latter is replaced by computer graphics, the creative process of which is limited to a sketchbook and graphics programs.
all methods, excluding polygraphy. It is divided into four subgroups: relief printing (involving cutting out the matrix and reproducing the uncut fragments). Intaglio printing (involving reproducing estonia whatsapp data the grooves that were created in the process of etching the matrix). Flat printing (involving reproducing a drawing made with greasy paint on a polished matrix), screen printing (involving exposing the drawing to a grid covered with a photosensitive emulsion, and then pressing the paint through the prepared matrix). Each subgroup is divided into techniques that differ in the material from which the matrix is made.
You could say – black magic – and it would sound the same as the paragraph above. This can only mean one thing – it is a really long and complex process of creating a work, requiring knowledge of techniques. A drawing made has a different value than, for example, the same one made using digital technology. In order to use our works for promotional and advertising purposes, we should also be prepared for such a role.
There are no prepared programs at Art Universities. They do not teach how to introduce a young artist to the market. There is also no preparation in the field of marketing, so as to direct one's work to specific recipients. On the other hand, the tasks performed during individual classes are assessed on the basis of whether the lecturers like them. There are no constructive corrections, no suggestions on what direction to take in the next stages of work. Such situations occurred in my field - I do not suggest that lecturers from other faculties lack competence.
Talent and reality
The Academy of Fine Arts is a unique cluster of young talents, most of whom will want to connect their future with art. Referring to advertising, competitions are organized for graphic design, posters, leaflets, labels. On this page you will find the best examples of combining art with advertising. Artists create projects in various techniques, submitting their works for evaluation by a jury. When the works are evaluated by a committee, everyone can have an equal chance.
But often in such competitions the audience has a say, then the internet is flooded with a great wave of people promoting themselves. Young talents are increasingly promoted and opportunities are given to beginning artists. In advertisements in which we can see outstanding works of art, e.g. Self-portrait by Vincent van Gogh, we have the opportunity to commune with art on a daily basis. Art comes out of museums and art galleries, and is more accessible.
