Users follow brands on social media to get special offers and discounts

Following a brand's profile on social networks such as Facebook and Twitter is becoming more and more common among Internet users. According to a study conducted by Get Satisfaction , there are three main reasons why most consumers follow a brand: to get discounts or special offers, because they are already regular customers or because they are interested in the content posted on their profiles.
One of the main conclusions of the study is that following a brand can modify user behaviour : on both Facebook and Twitter, more than 40% say they have bought a product or service from a brand after following it and around 37% have recommended it to other users. In the study, moreover, almost all users (98%) say that their previous online experience with a brand has influenced uae phone number list whether or not they buy its products.
