But in terms of its quality indicators, wheat is much better. This is confirmed by specialists from the Tambov branch of the Grain Quality Assessment Center, who daily monitor grain for compliance with consumer properties. This year, over 80 percent of the harvested wheat corresponds to the third and fourth food classes, which is much higher than last year's figures.
Currently, the harvesting of rapeseed and soybeans is underway. In the southern districts of the region, they have also begun harvesting sunflower and sugar beet.
– Taking into account the introduction of the federal emergency regime, high temperatures during the growing season, when assessing the harvest of the current year, we certainly do not expect to achieve the record shareholder database results of the past 2023. Today, our primary task is to ensure the harvesting of 100 percent of the area, – emphasized the acting Minister of Agriculture of the Tambov Region Elena Ivannikova.
Despite the difficult weather conditions this year, the Russian Ministry of Agriculture sets ambitious goals for the region - to achieve a gross grain harvest of 4.2 million tons this year. However, it should be noted that due to the professionalism of farmers and state support for grain crops, it was possible to collect the highest possible harvest - almost at the level of 2022 indicators and significantly higher than the volumes of 2021.
