78% of Spanish women will buy the same or more fashion online this Christmas than last year, despite the slowdown in private consumption in recent months. The reason is that online consumers of clothing, home textiles and accessories believe that they can find better deals online, which means they can stretch their gift budget further. These are some of the conclusions of the Venca 2008 Barometer on Online Fashion Purchases, the second edition of a statistical study carried out by the distance selling company for fashion, textiles and home furnishings, Venca.
For 65% of women who buy fashion online, their bitcoin data intention to buy at this time of year is no different than at other times of the year, while 16% say they intend to buy more. This Christmas, online consumers are willing to spend around €100 on clothing, home textiles and accessories. Compared to Christmas 2007, the Venca Barometer shows a slight increase in the number of women who say they will buy less this year, mainly because they have less money to spend on gifts.
By autonomous community, Cantabria and Castilla y León are where there are more consumers willing to spend up to €200 on fashion online during these holidays. On the other hand, in Navarra and Murcia, the majority of women say they will not buy any clothing items online this Christmas.
The Venca Barometer is based on a survey of a sample of more than 1,200 women living in Spain, aged at least 14, who were interviewed during the month of November. 90% of them have made a purchase online at some point. The study, prepared by the consultancy firm Elogia-Ipsofacto, segments the results by autonomous community and aims to find out the habits, purchasing intentions and profile of women living in Spain who buy clothing, footwear, accessories and home textiles online.
