Within the food and grocery category, we have several ideas for you. Our brainstorming got pretty wild, resulting in a number of colorful approaches to tackling content marketing for brick-and-mortar stores. Here are three of our craziest ideas:



Put the kids to work!
How about putting a 6-7 year old behind the cash register in a store? Next to it you have a sign that says: "Put the kids to work!". As content marketing, it can still be very effective. In the best case, it can lead to viral spread on social media.

It can be difficult to get an established chain to implement such an idea because they will be afraid of bad publicity in the media. To make it a little less provocative, you could replace “Put the kids to work!” with “Let the kids learn the value of money!”.

For a small business, however, it might be a good idea to make it extra provocative. In many cases, all advertising is good advertising. How about having a journalist sit a little distance away, watch what's happening, and report on the playful antics?
