According to FAST, the task might sound like this

Another method similar to SMART. Developed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. This option is also aimed at working in a group and the interests of employees, which means it should not be used for such average tasks as collecting semantics or analyzing sites in the YAN.

Similar to SMART and CLEAR, the letters of the abbreviation follow the criteria of the task:

Frequently discussed – often spoken out, periodically arises in conversations within a team so as not to lose it from memory;

Ambitious – ambitious, feasible, but not the most problem-free, to push the team to the maximum result;

Specific – the same as SMART;

Transparent – the task itself and the purpose for which it needs to be completed are clear to the entire team.

FAST is a great assistant for working with tasks that are important for the entire company or a separate project, so that they are always in sight and the result can be highly appreciated.

For example, an agency twitter database wants to improve its customer service by introducing more transparent and accessible contextual advertising reports. The task here will be for the team to select the best tool and transfer all customer service documentation to it.

How to set tasks

According to FAST, the task might sound like this:

“Select and implement by June 1 a data visualization system with the ability to build dynamic reports on contextual advertising to make preparation faster for specialists and documentation clearer for clients.”

Let's go through the criteria:

frequently discussed - the task affects all members of the group, so it will be constantly on everyone's lips;

ambitious - not easy due to its scale, but at the same time achievable;

specific – specifies a specific desired result (dynamic reports in a data visualization system);

transparent – all employees understand what to do (select and implement) and why it is needed (speed up processes and make documents clearer).
