Boom of .it domains in the ICT sector

The ICT sector registers more than 12,000 new .it sites in 2021 with a growth of 150% in five years. Decline in 2022. This was announced by the .it Registry, the body responsible for managing .it web domains
TOThe number of Italian companies in the ICT (Information and Communications Technology) sector that decide to go online with a .it domain is increasing. More than 12,000 new .it sites related to the ICT sector were registered in 2021, with a growth of 150% in five years.

The analysis conducted highlights the prevalence of new sites linked to operators in the Telecommunications and IT sectors (90.92%), followed by portals relating to the Trade and Repair sector (5.64%), News and Blogs (2.63%).
The 2021 trend substantially reflects the totality of .it domains registered in this sector: of the almost 133 thousand .it websites in the ICT area, the Telecommunications and IT segment represents 70.7%.
Registrations down in 2022
In the first four months of 2022, there was a 22.72% drop in registrations of new domains registered in the ICT sector and an increase in cancellations compared to the same period in 2021 with 3,924 .it cancelled in this sector, compared to 1,001 in the first 4 months of 2021.
